The former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai (Rtd) has denied misappropriating the sum of $1 Billion meant to buy weapons while in office.

“There was not a single fund given directly to me that I used. All budgetary releases are appropriately accounted for in our procurement system. The PDP alleged in 2019 that the APC misused this $1 billion, which was intended for arms purchases, for election purposes. This claim was debunked by the federal government, which confirmed that these funds were used for military procurement’.

He explained.
