    I'm depressed over the state of emergency in Rivers State says Fubara

    Suspended Governor of Rivers State Siminalayi Fubara has expressed his depressed condition over the announcement of the State of Emergency in Rivers State while speaking to Muslim leaders during the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.

    The governor who spoke to the media while addressing the Muslim delegates says he feels depressed about the state of emergency declared by President Bila Tinubu.

    ‘I feel depressed by the state of emergency… It was also a good time to reassure them of our hope in God and our determination to actualize a greater future for our dear State.’

    The Muslim leaders while speaking emphasized that Governor Siminalayi Fubara has continued to lead the state effectively despite the political crisis.

    The delegation includes, Muslim leaders from 20 Islamic groups, including the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs.

    Speaking on behalf of the Muslim Ummah, Alhaji Nasir Awhelebe Uhor assured Governor Fubara of their unwavering support.

    He encouraged the governor to remain resolute, as believers are tested through wealth, power and authority just like it is contained in Islamic teachings.
