    Peter Obi, Bala Mohammed in closed-door meeting amid SDP rumoured move

    The former governor of Anambra State and Labour Party’s 2023 Presidential candidate, Peter Obi has said that the Anambra state government has not given him anything since he left government in 2014.

    Peter Obi spoke during an interview with Rufai of AriseTV on Monday morning.

    The former governor and Presidential aspirant also said he has only one house in his state, Anambra, and he lives in a rented apartment in Lagos, and while in Abuja, he stays in hotels.

    “The only thing I didn’t do well (as a Governor) was not being in media and advertising myself. Maybe because I have an issue with giving people money”.

    “During my time as Governor, I ranked number one in education and in achieving the Millennium Development Goals. The only thing I didn’t do well was publicizing my achievements because I refused to use public funds to pay the media.”

    “Securing a country is far more fundamental than building roads. Rufai, are you saying a coastal road is more important than securing Nigeria? Would you prefer a road to your village if you can’t even drive there safely?”

    “During my time as Governor, I ranked number one in education and in achieving the Millennium Development Goals. The only thing I didn’t do well was publicizing my achievements because I refused to use public funds to pay the media.”!

    ‘Since I left government, Anambra State has not given me a bottle of water. ‘

    Peter Obi was the Governor of Anambra State under President Olusegun Obasanjo from 17 March 2006 to 3 November 2006, when he was impeached.
    He was reinstated on 9 February 2007 and continued his tenure until 2010, and was reelected for his second term until 7 March 2014.

    He has been a member of the Labour Party since 2022, he was the presidential candidate in the 2023 Nigerian presidential election.
