IPOB Leader, Nnamdi Kanu has sacked all his lawyers.

They were all sacked today shortly after the trial resumed in the early hours of today.

After exchanging pleasantries with the lead counsel moments after he was brought in for his trial, Kanu whispered that he would no longer require their services and that they could leave the court.

The conversation was conveyed to the trial judge, James Omotosho, who inquired of Kanu and confirmed that he would be representing himself.

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu has challenged the jurisdiction of the Federal High Court to continue his trial.

Nnamdi Kanu, in his oral presentation before the court, alleged that the Court of Appeal had discharged him in its verdict.

Nnamdi Kanu, by the court’s order, will represent himself, moving forward as he is expected to open his defence on Friday.

The presiding judge, Justice James Omotosho ruled that the defendant should open his defence as jurisdictional issues and all others can be challenged at the court of appeal or included in his final written address.

But an unconfirmed source states that Nnamdi Kanu was not happy with his defence lawyers’ participation in the protest demanding his release.

The protest organised by Omoyele Sowore says some of his lawyers and brother were arrested and charged in court for an unlawful gathering.

”Nnamdi saw the protest as a sabotage to his trial, and he is not happy. He initially agreed to the protest, but the moment his lawyers joined without his consent. An insider explains.
