    Itesiwaju LG PDP Chair dead after a prolonged illness

    The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State is currently mourning the death of Hon. Ganiyu Owolabi, a popular party chairman in Itesiwaju Local Government Area.

    Family sources say Owolabi passed away in the early hours of Tuesday after a prolonged battle with diabetes. The Grassroots politician, Owolabi was known for his calm temperament and unwavering loyalty to the PDP in Oyo State.

    His death, party members say, has left a painful void at a time when the party is navigating through both internal realignments and preparations for upcoming elections.

    The late chairman was said to have been managing the ailment for several years, but things went out of hand before his passing.

    Arrangements for his burial were said to be underway, in line with Islamic rites.

    The deceased attended a recent PDP general meeting held in Otu area of the council where he addressed party faithful on party unity and reaffirmed loyalty to Governor Seyi Makinde.
