The Directorate of State of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has announced the indefinite suspension of the Office of the Leader of IPOB and the position of Director of Radio Biafra — positions long held by Nnamdi Kanu.
According to a statement issued by the Directorate, the suspension takes immediate effect and will remain in place until further notice.
The group described the decision as part of ongoing administrative and organisational restructuring within the movement. No specific reasons were provided for the suspension, though IPOB said more details would be released in due course.
The move represents a major development in the internal structure of IPOB. The affected offices have been closely identified with Kanu, who continues to be viewed as the face of the Biafra self-determination campaign. Analysts believe the decision could reshape the group’s leadership dynamics and operational direction going forward.
