The Court of Appeal in Kaduna has reserved judgment in the bail appeal filed by former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai.
The court decided after hearing arguments from El-Rufai’s counsel, Paul Erokoro, SAN, and counsel for the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, Ayodeji Adedipe.
Adedipe urged the court to dismiss the appeal, arguing that El-Rufai had previously filed three bail applications before the Kaduna State High Court, which were rejected.
However, Erokoro urged the appellate court to grant his client bail, arguing that the offences against him were bailable and that his continued detention was affecting his ability to prepare his defence.
The court, presided over by Justice Onyekachi Aja Otisi, reserved judgment but did not announce a date for its delivery.
