Africa’s most populous nation is roughly divided in half between the largely Muslim north and mostly Christian south and has a history of Christian-Muslim violence, which has killed thousands of people.
But, at God The Creator of The world Interfaith Ministry in Lagos, Muslim and Christian believers can be seen praying and singing in unison.
Prophet Bolaji Oshoba told Reuters that his ministry, created in 2010, was meant to create a place where people from Nigeria’s two main religions could pray together as part of efforts to bring unity to the country of more than 200 million people.
For Oshoba, there is no greater time to showcase unity among Nigerians than now when Muslims are celebrating Eid al-Fitr, the end of Ramadan, and Christians are observing the Lent period leading up to Easter.
