Starting January 1, 2026, a Tax Identification Number (TIN) is mandatory for all bank account holders in Nigeria to continue using their accounts.

How to Check or Get a TIN:
— Check if you have a TIN: Visit tin.jtb.gov.ng, click “Search for TIN,” enter your BVN and Date of Birth, and verify if you already have a TIN.
— Register for a TIN if you don’t have one: Go to tin.jtb.gov.ng, select “Register for TIN,” provide your BVN, NIN, and other details, submit, and download or print your TIN certificate.
