    Damián Emiliano Martínez Romero, also known as Dibu has promised to retire from international football if Argentina can win the 2026 World Cup.

    This will mean the Argentine football team will be winning the most prestigious trophy back to back.

    The professional Agentine footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Premier League club Aston Villa and the Argentina national team is known as a specialist in saving penalty kicks,and is widely regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the world.

    Fabrizio is said to have quoted him saying:

    Emi ‘Dibu’ Martínez: “If we win two World Cups in a row, that’s it… I’m retiring from international football”.

    “We have to make room for other young players”, told B Play.

    This pundits have said Argentina winning the next World Cup might be possible considering their world class performance against Brazil over the weekend.
