President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Governor of Rivers State are both currently in a closed-door meeting.

The two leaders are in a private meeting at the State House in Abuja.

Governor Yusuf arrived at the presidential villa shortly after 4:00 PM WAT and was escorted to the President’s office by Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila.

The meeting comes amid persistent reports of a potential defection by Governor Yusuf from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
