National Democratic Congress (NDC) vice-presidential candidate, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has dismissed reports circulating on social media alleging that the party is planning a protest over the worsening insecurity in the country.

In a statement issued on Monday, the former Kano State governor described the claim as false and misleading, insisting that the party would pursue its political objectives through the ballot box in the 2027 general election. Kwankwaso said the NDC has no involvement in any action capable of disrupting public peace or leading to the destruction of lives and property.

He stressed that the party remains committed to democratic principles and peaceful engagement, maintaining that constructive dialogue and lawful political processes are the appropriate channels for addressing national concerns.

    He wrote on X:

Our attention has been drawn to a message currently circulating on social media falsely claiming that we are planning a protest over the rising insecurity in the country.

We do not support any action that could lead to the breakdown of public order or the destruction of lives and property. As responsible leaders, we remain committed to peaceful and constructive approaches in addressing national challenges.

As committed democrats, we firmly believe that the ballot box remains the most legitimate and effective way to express grievances and seek change. Our party, the NDC, is confident of securing a resounding victory in the upcoming elections through peaceful democratic means.

The general public is therefore advised to disregard the false message and ignore those peddling such disinformation.
