Dame Aleruchi Cookey-Gam, former Rivers State Attorney-General and Commissioner of Justice has said Rivers administrator will not need a full cabinet, or embark on projects.
She disclosed this while speaking on AriseTV morning show.
The Rivers State Sole Administrator, Retired Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas, has also suspended political appointees and office holders in the state with immediate effect.
Dame Aleruchi Cookey-Gam says:
‘The people of Rivers State must focus on restoring normalcy. This is not the time for political appointments. The administrator’s primary responsibility is to restore law and order’.
‘The state’s expenses, which the administrator will oversee, include salaries of all workers and current expenditures. Given that all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) have permanent secretaries, I don’t see why the administrator would need a full cabinet’.
