Sanusi re-elected as Ogun APC Chairman

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State has re-elected Chief Yemi Sanusi to office as the chairman of the ruling party at the state congress.
Chief Sanusi, who ran unopposed, was re-elected via a consensus arrangement. This decision was affirmed by a loud voice vote from party delegates gathered at the Cultural Centre in Kuto, Abeokuta. The exercise was conducted peacefully under the supervision of officials from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the party’s national committee.
“I am deeply humbled by this renewed mandate to continue steering the ship of our great party in Ogun State,” Sanusi said. “This is not a victory for me alone, but a victory for the progressive ideals we stand for. We will run an inclusive administration that will accommodate every stakeholder and ensure that our party remains united and strong ahead of future elections.” He stated during his acceptance speech.
Sanusi’s first tenure was marked by efforts to consolidate the party’s structure following internal disputes. Party chieftains present at the congress praised his leadership style, describing it as a unifying force within the state chapter.
The Returning Officer for the congress, Honourable Wale Ohu declared the process free, fair, and in line with the party’s constitution, urging the new executive to prioritise unity as the party looks toward the next electoral cycle.
