    President Tinubu unveils “Nigeria First Policy”

    President Bola Tinubu has approved and posted four ambassador-designates.

    They are drawn from the list of 68 nominees earlier confirmed by the Senate in December 2025.

    Under the new postings, Ambassador Ayodele Oke, former NIA chief, is appointed Ambassador-designate to France, Colonel Lateef Are is deployed serve as Ambassador-designate to the United States of America.

    Ambassador Aminu Dalhatu, a former Nigerian ambassador to South Korea, redeployed as the High Commissioner-designate to the United Kingdom.

    While Usman Isa Dakingari Suleiman, a former governor of Kebbi State, was re-appointed as Ambassador-designate to Turkey.

    His posting coincides with preparations for President Tinubu’s scheduled state visit to Turkey next week, underscoring the strategic importance of the bilateral relationship.

    President Tinubu also directed the ministry to formally notify the governments of the four host countries of the appointments, in line with established diplomatic protocols and international conventions.
