The United States Supreme Court has rejected a request by President Donald Trump’s administration to withhold nearly $2bn (£1.6bn) in payments to foreign aid organizations for work they have already performed for the government.
The court on Wednesday, upheld a lower court’s decision ordering the administration to release the funds to contractors and grant recipients of the US Agency for International Development and the State Department.
